Hi, My Name Is...

Christian LaTour... Actually, I'd rather start off this relationship with you by being honest.  That's not my real name.  I was born Jeffrey Larz Wedemeyer.  'Christian LaTour' is an alias that I created under which I produce and spin dance music. I feel my given name is not very cool or marketable and quite frankly, I hate the way it sounds!  Don't tell my parents that, they'd be very sad if they knew I hated my name.

I'm not pretending to be somebody else or create any sort of gimmick by creating an alias, I'm just climbing the ladder in the music world and want to have a name that's cool, marketable and classy.  I'm not the first or the last to do this.  I don't know of very many artists or DJ's that use their real names, and if you're lucky enough to have been born with a cool name then I sort of envy you.

I have several things I hope to accomplish with this blog and the first is to be as entertaining as possible.  I'm am absolutely obsessed with electronic dance music and have been for a long time so this blog will be centered around that fact.  I will also be writing about the trials and tribulations of creating a business and trying to make a viable career as a producer and DJ in this industry. Of course I have to promote myself so there will be some of that in the form of mixes, tracks, show dates, etc...

I'm hoping I can compel you and many other to follow me on this journey and maybe, just maybe, inspire you to stick you're neck out and go for something that you're passionate about but feel like the odds may be stacked against you, which is exactly the situation I'm currently in.
